New providers join WVU Medicine

The following providers joined WVU Medicine in February:

Morgantown, WV

ANESTHESIOLOGY

Diane Schmidt-Krings, MD, is an anesthesiologist at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was most recently employed at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota. She completed an anesthesiology residency at WVU.

WVU CANCER INSTITUTE

Kristy Ward, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist, formerly of Texas Oncology in Sugar Land, Texas. Prior to moving to Texas, Dr. Ward was the division chief of gynecologic oncology and the assistant director of research at the University of Florida. She completed a fellowship in women’s reproductive health as well as an obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Texas-Galveston. She went on to complete a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of California-San Diego.

WVU MEDICINE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Sharda Udassi, MD, is a pediatrician and the associate chief quality officer for WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital. Dr. Udassi previously practiced at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City and Sidra Medical and Research Center in Doha, Qatar. She was the director of quality and safety, interim director of the Sidra Infusion Center, and associate director for the Office of Faculty Affairs at Sidra Medical. She completed a general pediatrics residency at SUNY Upstate, Syracuse and earned her PhD there as well.

EMERGENCY MEDICINE

Erica Anderson, FNP-C, is a nurse practitioner in the emergency department at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She earned her MSN at the University of Memphis and was a nurse at Baptist Memorial Health.

HOSPITAL MEDICINE

Catherine Powers, PA-C, is a physician assistant on the hospitalist service at Ruby. She is a graduate of Frostburg State University.

Michelle Welker, FNP, is a nurse practitioner in the obstetrics and gynecology division at both Ruby and Uniontown Hospital. She graduated from Penn State University.

SURGERY

Blair Burns, FNP-C, is a nurse practitioner in the surgical oncology and breast surgery divisions. She is a graduate of George Mason University.

Angela Davis, FNP, is a nurse practitioner at the WVU Critical Care and Trauma Institute. She transferred from nursing at Ruby. She is a graduate of Marshall University.

Buckhannon, WV

EMERGENCY MEDICINE

Jordan Campbell, PA-C, is a physician assistant in emergency medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She graduated from Alderson Broaddus University.

Weston, WV

BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE AND PSYCHIATRY

Tiffany Mitchell, PA-C, is a physician assistant at William Sharpe Hospital. She has previous experience at Sharpe Hospital and graduated from Duquesne University.

McHenry, MD

COMMUNITY PRACTICE

Amie Blank, FNP, is a nurse practitioner at McHenry Urgent Care. She was previously a nurse at Ruby. She graduated from Frostburg State University.
